Most of you have heard of Cosmetic Gynecology but many do not know the background stuff so here is a brief history of my trek to get to this point. I just gave this talk at Loma Linda University for their OBGYN Department Grand Rounds last week so it is very current.

First, the Disclosures. I am or have consulted with the companies below. I invented some stuff and own a bunch of patents. Lone Star APS Retractor, Pelvic Support Systems, ThermiVa, Predictive Permeation. My background is pelvic reconstructive surgery and Urogynecology and Aesthetic Vulvovaginal Surgery. Over 30 years.

I have taught for various companies in my career.

I have created and organized National/International Congresses over the past decades.

And I have created an Online Training platform for Surgical and Non-Surgical procedures covering cosmetic gynecology: Alinsod Institute (AIAVS). I am currently working on Biologic projects involving Amniotic Fluid, Exosomes, Carboxytherapy, and Plant/Herbal therapies. My device projects involve the next generation of RF therapies for easier/safer/more comfortable treatments at lower prices.

I work with these guys below and will discuss all of them in the near future. Exiting stuff really. Think different!

This field is relatively young but NOT new. Take a look below of the major historical events in the field and the countries pushing the envelope overseas. This specialty started in the U.S. but its growth is International. Embarrassing really for the Americans who fall more and more behind. We’ll talk politics later. Hate the subject.

The growth in this past decade is amazing. All the countries below have organizations that have developed and grown with many offering their own Congress and a few (Philippines and India) obtaining subspecialty status under their parent organization just like Gyn Onc, REI, MFM, Urogyn, and MIGS.

OK, so you get the point. I keep my finger on the pulse of what’s happening and will share my thoughts with you the reader. The field is vibrant and growing worldwide. Access to skilled doctors is growing. Training programs are evolving and spreading like weeds. My next post will cover the training programs around the world.
