Part 1: Sutureless Band Release and the Management of the Tight Introitus

What to do when the vaginal opening is too tight after an episiotomy or posterior repair or a perineoplasty or a vaginoplasty. Happens to all of us surgeons. This is how I manage the problem.

After any repair of the posterior vaginal floor suturing and scars can occur that result in a tight introitus, band formation and scaring ,and painful sex. We all do the surgeries to make sure that the vaginal opening is not too tight but sometimes it is closed too tight or the patient has a new larger partner. Pelvic surgeons need to manage this problem. I want to show you how I take care of the problem in the office under local anesthesia and without the need for suturing. Anytime you put sutures it can scar and cause a band. So here is an option of repair using standard cautery and radiofrequency. The complete video is about 46 minutes long. I share the first 5 minutes for free. All the PPT slides are below for subscribers.
