Have you heard of the Vampire Wing Lift? How about the world famous O-Shot? Both are invented by Dr. Charles Runels in Fairhope, Alabama? Go to the link to learn more from the inventor himself. His brilliance has changed the world of gynecology. Here is a short video presentation on how the Vampire Wing Lift is done in my office using FemXHA and a canola. Below is an explanation of what those procedures are for and some examples of Before and After pictures using PRP and HA (Hyaluronic Acid) and RF (radiofrequency). We have a busy vulvar plumping practice and a very robust O-Shot practice. This video gives you a sneak peak into FemXHA, a system I helped develop and is now available! Check it out below.
Red Alinsod, MD
What is a Vampire Wing Lift: It is the injection of Platelet Rich Plasm (PRP) mixed with Hyaluronic Acid (HA) into the Labia Majora (the larger outer lips of the labia) to increase the volume of an aging and deflated looking Labia Majora. It is also performed for the aging, dry, and sagging Labia Majora to improve the tissue tone/texture/moisture. It is an office procedure done using your own blood mixed with Hyaluronic Acid. That is exactly what is FemXHA is made of. This procedure with FemXHA can be used at the time of other feminine surgeries. Here is a photo of the packaging and several cases demonstrating the use of FemXHA. Juventix is the manufacturer of FemXHA. A quiet company in Florida that just keeps ahead of everyone else. I chose them to help me create FemXHA. It is now ready!
Here are a few examples of what can be done with FemXHA.
How long does it last and how much does it cost: It depends on what type of Hyaluronic Acid you use. Crosslinked HA like Juvederm, Restylane, Versa, will last about 1-2 years. It costs about $800 per ml of HA. “Crosslink” means the HA is altered to have strong bonds that crosslink and connect the HA structure together preventing the rapid breakdown by the body’s enzymes. Touch ups are recommended when volume loss happens. You cannot stop aging. You can also use non-cross linked HA that will last 6-12 months. Not as long. However, there is less potential lumpiness with non-cross linked HA and it is much more affordable at about $85 per ml. Plus the cost of the PRP is about $1200 per test tube and you need one per side.
Let’s compare Apples to Apples: Let’s use non-cross linked HA 3cc per side for a total of 6cc (FemXHA). With the non-cross linked HA the procedure costs an average of about $2,900. That is $1,200x2 + $85x6 = $2,910. FemXHA is affordable.
Let’s now use the cross linked HA at $800 per 1cc. That is now $1,200x2 + $800x6 = $7,200. Ouch! FemXHA is $60% cheaper using non-cross linked HA.
The problem for the doctor is that almost all HA on the market in the US is cross linked. Hard to find non-cross linked HA in the US. Until now since FemXHA just got released. I have used this for over a year and it works amazingly well with the dramatic reduction in cost for the patient. It can be used not just for vulvar plumping and Vampire Wing Lifts but also for terribly debilitating conditions such as Lichen Sclerosis and Vulvar Vestibulitis. Take a look at the patient below who had this terrible condition and how HA and radiofrequency was able to help her. Here is a link to more info on radiofrequency treatments such as ThermiVa. Once more, Energy plus Biologics (Radiofrequency plus PRP/HA) are transforming lives.
